The celebration of fifty years for any organisation is a momentous achievement upon which to reflect. In 1969 Lundy came into the ownership of The National Trust as a result of the generosity of Jack Hayward who provided the capital for its’ purchase. The Landmark Trust then stepped in and leased Lundy to manage, conserve and restore its’ buildings to their former glory and to look after its’ wonderful and unique landscape above and below the waves.
This new publication provides a glimpse at what it was like to visit Lundy in the 1960s and during that period of significant change and improvement under the aegis of the Landmark Trust.
It will provide a permanent visual record of what has been achieved over that significant half-century in the life of
Lundy and the chance to also look forward to a bright future as we all work together to ensure its wellbeing for years to come.
